Tour Features
College of Saint Benedict / Saint John's University
Themed or topical summary videos may have cuepoints which provide the user with more in-depth content at distinct moments during the playback of a video. This allows for a user to catch a quick bit of context or follow as much depth as they would like.
CSB-SJU is a single institution with gender-distinct coordinate colleges. In order to show the unity of the two campuses, their building navigation and search are common to both locations, but can launch the appropriate campus location when a building is chosen. Using the Show on Map feature of Detailed Content Windows, a user may easily display the correct location map even while following an interactive video cuepoint in a different section of the tour application.
Though a Flash application traditionally does not allow a user's history to be tracked, CSB-SJU's tour allows a knowing user to press Control+Home on their keyboard to generate a unique URL as a bookmark for their position in the application. CSB-SJU used this feature to send targeted information to selected accepted students.
From labels, colors, transparency, menu items, animation speed, and even to features not yet utilized CSB-SJU's custom application can be completed changed, updated or even gutted at any time. GroundWork constructs our applications to be fully customizable in term of content, structure, and settings so that they are as useful when brands, messages, and ideas change over time.
GroundWork offers a usage-tracking application which not only tracks obvious user click action, but also application behavior and gesture actions (map panning, roll-overs, etc). StatFrame reports the usage of data by complete sessions and by discrete objects (wherever this Building was accessed, or where a specific photo was seen), not simply which "pages" data appear on. This data is invaluable for content planning efforts. StatFrame can support session-aware Forms, Surveys, Quizzes, and can facilitate unique experiences based on past visits.
There are no restrictions placed on the application in terms of the quantity of content it may contain. All sections, sub-sections, maps, lists, media, text, etc. all may continue to expand to accommodate the future and changing needs of the institution.
Anywhere visual media is displayed (and sometime where it is not currently see), any other type of visual media may be substituted. Still Photos, Panoramic Photos, Video, Timed Slideshows, User-controlled Slideshows, SWF Animations, and more are always available to help describe any subject matter.
